Where U.S. 441 meets State Route 57, Irwinton has served as Wilkinson County's seat for more than two centuries. Stewart Septic Services is glad to serve it too.
Irwinton was established as the seat of Wilkinson County in 1811 and named for Governor Jared Irwin. During Sherman's March to the Sea in 1864, Union troops burned the courthouse, yet the 1856 Union Church — built and shared by Methodists, Baptists and Presbyterians — was spared and still stands on a hill at the edge of town. Today U.S. 441 and State Route 57 cross in downtown Irwinton, and Stewart Septic Services takes care of the city from our home in Macon.
Erwin Stewart founded our company in 1994, and it's still family owned and operated. Folks around Middle Georgia tell their neighbors to “call Mr. Stewart” because we show up fast, charge fairly and don't sell work you don't need. For Irwinton, that means pumping, repairs, real estate septic inspections and new or replacement systems from a company the Georgia Department of Public Health lists as a certified septic tank installer.
Many homes in and around Irwinton sit on large lots with septic systems, and some of those systems date back decades. Big oaks and pines shade plenty of these yards, and their roots will find a leaky joint sooner or later. If your drains are slowing down, call Stewart Septic Services at 478-474-2653 before a small problem turns into a backup.

"My neighbor recommended their service and it was a great experience. Every employee I dealt with was knowledgeable, professional, and kind. I thought my tank needed to be cleaned but they told me the problem was only a faulty float valve. They could have taken advantage of the opportunity to do un-necessary work but didn’t."
