Juliette formed when the settlements of Brownsville and Iceberg merged, and it was named for Juliette McCracken, the daughter of a railroad engineer. The 1991 film Fried Green Tomatoes was shot here, and its sets became the shops of McCracken Street and the Whistle Stop Cafe, which still serves fried green tomatoes.
