Where U.S. 80 meets U.S. 341, Roberta keeps its small-town pace. Stewart Septic Services keeps the septic systems around it running, serving Crawford County from Macon.
Roberta exists because the railroad skipped Knoxville. When the Atlanta & Florida line passed about a mile southwest of the old county seat in the late 1880s, a new town grew up around the station, and landowner Hiram McCrary named it for his young daughter. Today Roberta is the only incorporated city in Crawford County, with a replica depot that serves as the welcome center, a restored caboose downtown and the Benjamin Hawkins monument a short walk away. Stewart Septic Services serves Roberta from our home base in Macon.
Erwin Stewart founded our family-owned company in 1994, and we've grown mostly on referrals from people who were told to “call Mr. Stewart.” The company carries an A+ rating from the BBB and appears on Georgia's list of certified septic tank installers. Roberta customers call us for septic tank pumping, repairs, real estate septic inspections and emergency service any hour of the day.
Roberta sits close to the Fall Line, where hilly Piedmont ground gives way to flatter Coastal Plain farmland, so soils can change from one property to the next. Older homes in town and farmhouses on the rural roads around it often have systems that have been in place for decades. If a drain is backing up or the yard stays wet, call Stewart Septic Services at 478-474-2653 and we'll track down the cause.
